Cheque Book Maintenance

 

This option allows you maintain a range of Cheque Numbers for a particular Bank Account. This enables the user to select an appropriate cheque number at the time of entering Bank Transactions.

 

To 'Add' a Book Book, click on the button.

Please note that once Cheque Details are defined for a particular Bank Account, it can not be modified. You can delete an existing Cheque Number provided it has not been used in any Bank Transactions.

Field Description of Cheque Book Maintenance

Bank Book:

Specifies the Bank Book for which the Cheque Range belongs to.

 

Click on the field to access a list of Bank Books that have already been created through Book Master Maintenance option. Select your desired Book from the list by clicking on it. Alternatively you can also enter the Book Code. Press <TAB>.

 

Location:

This field will be enabled only if the flag 'Do you want to maintain Location wise Cheque Numbers' is set as 'On' through Finance Policy option of Administrator Tools Module. If the flag is set as 'Off', this field will remain disabled.

 

Denotes the Location Code and Name for the selected Bank Book. IMMS allows to maintain different Cheque Books for each Location.

 

Click on the field to access a list of Sites defined for the currently logged in Company through Site Master option of Administrator Tools Module. Select your desired Site from the list by clicking on it. Alternatively you can also enter the Site Code. Press <TAB>.

 

Account Group:

Automatically displays the Account Group Code and Name for the selected Bank Book.

 

Account:

Automatically displays the Account Code and Name for the selected Bank Book.

 

Click on button to continue.

 

A list of already existing Cheque Numbers for the selected Bank Book and Location will be displayed along with their status in a grid. If cheque has been issued, it also displays the Bank Transaction against it. The grid is as follows -

 

Cheque No. From:

(Type : Numeric, Length : 6)

This field will be displayed only while 'Adding' a new Cheque Book details. Otherwise it will not appear.

 

Enter the starting number of the Cheque Book.

 

Cheque No. To:

(Type : Numeric, Length : 6)

This field will be displayed only while 'Adding' a new Cheque Book details. Otherwise it will not appear.

 

Enter the last number of the Cheque Book.

 

Once you have entered all the information, click on 'Save' button to finally save the Cheque Book details or 'Cancel' button to discard.
